Tulsa Garden Club offers financial aid to students majoring in horticulture and landscape architecture and/or other related or allied subjects.
Fulfilling the National Garden Clubs, Inc. belief that "financial aid will yield vast returns in developing horticulturally-oriented adults today for better tomorrows," the Club's assistance helps these scholars graduate to begin their own nurseries and landscape businesses, or to become professors, researchers, and consultants in their fields of expertise. These successes perpetuate the Club's horticultural educational legacy. Recipients for 2016-2017:
Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma
Approximately $201,500 awarded since 1958
Tulsa Community College, Tulsa, Oklahoma
Approximately $9,000 awarded since 1998
Student grant recipients joined Rachel Hutchings, TCC Foundation Director of Development, Dr. Janet Cole, OSU Department Head/Regents Professor of Horticulture & Landscape Architecture, along with Tulsa Garden Club Student Grants Chair Pat Whittington, during November 7, 2017 membership meeting.
